Will Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining Ever Rule the World?"
In the heat of the confronting issues we experience day in, day out, the universe has not been able to do justice to all of life’s formidable situations. Each passing day demands for our response to life’s changes, which might feel like letting our fish out of water, it’s alarming and truth is we’ve all experience changes at some point in our lives; the good, the bad and the ugly.
The media world has made it so heartrending that all the myriad of problems just keeps on going until one feels overwhelmed and just stop being bothered about them. I mean who has time for overthinking? (Someone cannot come and die๐คฅ๐).So, is there really light at the end of the tunnel?
As the world marks the International Day of Happiness recently, my precious country, Nigeria, ranked 85 out of 156 countries. Not bad, right๐ค? (At least we no carry last๐).The statistics got me thinking and all I could do is smile. The other day, a close acquiantance of mine advised me to stop saying “how are you doing? “Because everybody tends to come up with the default response, “I’m fine”. So she told me to say “are you happy?”
During the Easter break, April of this year, as I was packing my luggage for school, my mom persuaded me to go see a colleague of hers, who was robbed the previous night. We got to the place after a forty-minute drive and we were ushered into the house.
The incident had occurred in the midnight and the robbers forcefully gained entrance into the house, by breaking the front door with axe and machete. They entered the living room and requested for money, gold jewelries and all sort, but unfortunately for them, there was no such thing in the house. So they took all the phones in the house.
The robbers were extremely drunk and high-spirited, and so one of them attempted to shoot the father of the house, which was not successful as the first daughter prostrated herself before the guy and appealed to him not to kill her dad. The guy was immediately irritated, but he refrained from killing the father. The daughter’s daring action reminded me of a woman in the bible; Abigail. This girl is my hero. She was willing to take a risk to rescue her father, even though the situations on ground were unpleasant.
Reality is we grew up owning a script that has been handed to us, and this girl was the lead actress of the script that day. As the world celebrates mental health month, don’t joke with your mental health. So amidst all the confronting issues of life, let’s be reminded that every cloud has a silver lining. Brian Tracy once cited that, “human beings are choosing organisms”. We can choose to be the survivor rather than the victim.
SO CHEERS TO LIVING YOUR BLISS๐ฅ,
